Jimmy Y. Hu, MD
Dr. Jimmy Y. Hu is a cataract, refractive and corneal specialist; he performs complex cataract surgery, corneal transplant surgery, and refractive surgery including LASIK and PRK. Dr. Hu also performs ocular surface reconstruction surgery, and attends patients with dry eyes, ocular surface disease, and complicated and corneal conditions. EDUCATION | TRAINING
Dr. Hu earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude in the honors program. He then received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine with Special Distinction in Ophthalmology for his research. His post-graduate training consisted of a medical internship at Brown University and residency at the Henkind Eye Institute at Montefiore Medical Center. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Hu received subspecialty fellowship training in Cornea, External Diseases and Refractive Surgery at the prestigious Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Professional Affiliations
Dr. Hu has authored peer-reviewed scientific publications, presented research at national and international academic conferences and has received funding from the National Institute of Health. He is voluntary faculty at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, and has won awards for both his research and teaching. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Cornea Society, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Jimmy Hu is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
